Precious Little Barossa Maranga Nero D’Avola 2024

Some blue toned inky hues in the glass, this delivers in the mulberry, boysenberry and plum you’d expect. Some Ancho pepper, beetroot earthiness and soft licorice spice. Plenty of snappy acid and powdery tannins, this is plum pudding and blackcurrant wine gums. Sage leaf and rosemary sit behind its black fruit profile. All the vineyard flavour and not a lot of the winemaking artifact, subtle oak adds some savoury nutmeg and cinnamon. This is light on its feet but not on impact. This is the kind of Nero that is here one minute and gone the next, so is its friendly, agreeable way. Some pork loin chops and a sweetcorn salsa would do nicely. Drink now.
