You may not be surprised this wine contains some bunch but you might not expect the 30-40% inclusion. This is packed with rhubarb and Morello cherries. Fresh cranberries and Gala apple skin. A slice of sweet red peppers, stringy bark and tobacco pouch. The larger oak format is showing its brown spices which suit the red fruit spectrum. Some fernet bitterness and ground coffee, with a slinky acid line that keeps the wine juicy. The savoury quality of the Hills is also here with red earth and powdery tannins. Ideal with cajun and blackened chicken. Drink now or will continue to show those rust and turned leaf litter notes as it ages in the next 2-3 years.
