Purple Hands Shiraz 2019

Share

Looking to spend $30 on a big Barossan? Then look no further than this shiraz from Purple Hands, who happen to also be the Most Successful Small Producer at the 2019 Barossa Wine Show. It’s a single site shiraz from Williamstown that matches up ripe and generous fruit with spicy oak to make a wine that will warm the hearts of Barossa fans.

Deeply coloured, it’s powerful for sure but not overdone. It radiates with blueberry and mulberry fruit on the sweeter side thanks to the warm and dry 2019 vintage with a touch of violets in the mix. That is followed up by a big, rich and fleshy palate – wave after wave of dark, chocolatey flavours provide a fist full of full-bodied fruit with quite supple tannins floating underneath. It’s impressive and delicious, although probably already close to its peak.
