Purple Hands Wines Planta Circa Ancestor Vine Grenache 2021

Share

Sourced from the Zimmerman vineyard, first planted around (hence Planta Circa) 1880 at Lyndoch in the heart of the Barossa Valley.  Purple Hands is a partnership between esteemed winemaker Craig Stansborough and Mark Slade. Flagship Grenache and bottled under DIAM cork with an impressive wax seal. Wonderfully perfumed with dark red fruit smacking of raspberry, cherry wrapped in chocolate (Cherry Ripe™ anyone?), malt biscuit, Irish Moss herbaceous lift with hints of ginger and bitumen. Spiced with a definitive presence baselined by an earthy, bitumen, coffeed tone. Concentration of flavour from the ancient vines with surprisingly intense acidity. Silkiness tempered with a waxy grip and very long length. One for the ages.
