Pyren Vineyard Earthscape Shiraz 2022

Share

A welcoming, juicy, bright and zippy young Shiraz with plenty of personality. Moves fast and easy, pleasing the palate on all fronts while holding more than enough in reserve for years down the track. Black pepper, blueberry, bramble, ripe black berries and a gentle spice rise from the glass. While there is obvious youth to be enjoyed here, there is depth, too. That’s where it gets serious. Earth, herbals, vanilla and peppery-spice wind their way around and through black and red cherry fruits. There’s a hint of something exotic at work, too, a touch of cured meats, wood smoke. Tannins perform their role discreetly but firmly. It all adds up to a pretty impressive youngster. One to wait and watch, if you can.
