Quealy Mornington Peninsula Turbul Malvasia 2022

Share

The Turbul Malvasia turns up the volume a little more from the Ribolla Gialla, exciting your senses of smell and taste but also touch and sight (maybe it also sounds different to those with great hearing). The medium gold hue and light cloudiness are a delight to watch as they play with the light, and the medium+ aroma intensity results in some vivid notes, which are a striking mix of fruity and savoury: grapefruit, brine, straw, rosemary, green bean, butter, honey and nuts – a dish with these characters actually does sound pretty good. And the Turbul Malvasia is very good, with that briny character reminding me of the sea and the resonant flavours reminding me that I was quite hungry, so I paired the wine with a roast chicken and it was simply lovely.
