Richard Hamilton Hut Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

There’s varietal character here, and an elegant, digestible feel to the palate. Bay leaf, subtle bell pepper and blackcurrant lead the charge followed by clove, a glimmer of coal and whispers of earth. On the palate, it’s medium bodied and elegant with notes of plum and blackcurrant sitting above cedar, black olive and caperberries. It’s delicately structured though with ample tannin grip to provide frame through a finish of medium length. Concentration and complexity aren’t a part of the program, but there’s a lot of wine here for $26.
