Seppeltsfield The Westing Shiraz 2021

Share

A single vineyard wine, from Seppeltsfield ‘V Block’ planted on the Western boundary of the Barossa Valley designated zone. Red-brown earths over alkaline subsoils, and typically one of the earliest ripening Seppeltsfield Shiraz vineyards. Violets, bright red berries, a hit of cracked leather and woodsmoke, dark chocolate and aniseed. Black berries and whole peppercorn are underlaid by a loosely woven meaty ferrous character. Tannins have plenty of chew to hold on to interlaced with a delicate silken quality that is intoxicating. Concentrated fruit, driven with grace by an energising acid line. This is a beautifully balanced shiraz, with those classic ripe black fruits and spice interplayed with a savoury elegance, and a salted plum finish that calls you back for a second sip. This will age nicely.
