Serafino Sharktooth Wild Ferment Chardonnay 2019

Share

Years ago there were plenty of McLaren Vale Chardonnays to choose from but now they can be a little hard to track down. Sure the wines are not the modern, more delicate style of Australian chardonnay but they still have plenty to offer, as is seen here.

Pale gold, this wine showcases its warm climate origins with powerful and rich fruits largely in the tropical spectrum, predominantly pineapple and rockmelon, but there is also some surprising depth underneath with crushed cashews and spicy oak rounding out the package. It’s a creamier style with concentrated fruit and oak that fills the palate with just enough acidity for balance. Fans of old school chardonnay will love it, especially with roast chicken.
