From high up in the Adelaide Hills at Lenswood comes this stunning single vineyard Chardonnay from Shaw and Smith. But it is not a wine to suit all tastes with its sinewy, acid driven frame and tightly focussed fruit far removed from the more generous style of Shaw & Smith’s M3 Chardonnay. This is a wine that demands time with its floral, chalky and nougat fruits still quite youthful and unevolved. It has a great blend of fruit tension and balance wound up in a blanket of subtle, spicy oak and is Adelaide Hills Chardonnay at its best – it just needs time for everything to fall into place.
