Sidewood Owen’s Chardonnay 2024

Share

One of three Chardonnays in the Sidewood portfolio, sitting at the top of the range, highly awarded over many years including this vintage. Its signature character is due firstly to clonal selection, all Mendoza, which delivers a fuller and generous fruit profile, here in ripe nectarine mode offset with a fresher edge of yellow grapefruit, given all manner of extra interest from its oak treatment that sits neatly integrated with the wine’s expressive flavours. Think hazelnut cream and Portuguese tart and a light charriness. Yep, lots going on, plenty to savour and enjoy, yet still with an underlying acidity and energy to maintain length and moreishness. High Chardonnay artistry.
