Bottle 3165 of 3582. Fruit for this exquisite West Aussie Riesling is from the Misery Hill vineyard in Porongurup. Granite soils and elevation equate to fruit purity coupled with plenty of mineral intensity. The nose is luscious yet slick, like water condensation on a chilled guava. There’s tropical florals, honeysuckle, lime juice, feijoa and green mango, along with oodles of crushed quartz on the nose. This is a Riesling that whispers of opulence and hints of sweetness on its perfumed nose. Don’t be fooled, however, the palate is bone dry and at once refreshing, complex and impeccably long. Layers of finely detailed texture underpin the shimmering acidity that swooshes along the top line. The final result is an elegant and intricate Riesling, which continues to unfurl in the glass. Drink it now for plenty of enjoyment, or hold for the next level of mature beauty to develop.
