Sordo Barolo 2017

Share

This Barolo Classico is a barrel selection across Sordo’s range from 8 communes and 17 crus, of which 80% is La Morra. Just like the single cru wines, this is a showpiece of Sordo’s traditional house style; 7 weeks of maceration and 24 months of maturation in old Slavonian botti. Fragrant ripe blood orange, cranberry and plum fruit, with plenty of savoury details underneath; fennel seed, dried oregano, and that typical La Morra cocoa cherry. Generous fruit weight on the palate – as expected from the 2017 vintage – gently transitions into broad and savoury tannins. Chiselled, long and fresh.
