Springs Road Kangaroo Island Shiraz 2022

This vineyard was acquired in 2016, but the plantings were made between 1994 and 2000. It can be a fairly tough environment to be growing grapes, yet a wine like this shows what can be achieved. The colour is dense and vibrant, and the aroma displays a distinctive earthy, plummy black fruit combination. While on the palate you’re getting a dry dusty thread that cuts through the more opulent red and black fruits, it’s balanced and expressive, and a very good example of what can be achieved on Kangaroo Island. Excellent wine.
