Squitchy Lane Yarra Valley Cabernet Franc 2022

A Limited Release wine of quality built for longevity rather than speed. Employs the grape’s naturally high acidity to effect in this tightly structured youngster that welcomes a few swishes in the glass to perform a full reveal. Green peppercorns, dried herbs, jalapeño, sour cherry and dusty cocoa aromas. Attractive aromatics headline a wine quite delicate and fine featured with sinewy tannins and bright acidity holding firm against a solid core of red fruits and herbs. Splashes of red liquorice and cherry cola add that something extra. Finishes firm and dry and ready for a plate of charcuterie or, as recommended by the maker, a slow cooked shoulder of lamb with green olive caponata!
