Lovely restraint on the perfume while retaining classic regional character. Blackberry, black cherry, dusty cedar, grilled meat, plum, shortbread oak, black pepper, rosemary and a delicately sweet note of plum pudding. The elegance, detail and complexity are arresting. Medium-to-full bodied on the palate, with firm, grainy tannins framing blackberry, black olive, blood plum, black pepper and cedar. Despite sitting at the darker end of the colour spectrum, the fruit retains real vibrancy. Dried meat and subtly bitter chocolate permeate a finish of good length. A strong release.
