Taltarni Pyrenees Old Vine Estate Shiraz 2018

Share

Made from the original 50 year old vines planted at Taltarni in the late 1960s, Taltarni’s Old Vine Shiraz is a benchmark red wine for the region showing both its generosity of fruit with a cool climate edge.

It has a big colour that displays old vine fruit concentration. That is followed by dense ripe mulberry and blackberry fruits with an attractive savoury, earthy edge. The wine is bone dry and full-bodied but without being overblown – its ripe blackberry fruit lifted by hints of violet, sage and spice. The wine is moreish and delicious, with powerful fruit supported by sinewy tannins that all help to drive a long finish. Lovely wine that drinks well now but will get better.
