Chain of Ponds Unchained Grüner Veltliner 2021

Share

One of a pigeon pair released (in a funky bottle and eye-catching label) under ‘Unchained’ from Chain of Ponds in the Adelaide Hills, this Grüner Veltliner is a delicate pale gold in the glass and has classic aromas of white pepper on pear layered with savoury notes of chamomile and mineral. This white is dry and light, with flavours of pear and citrus peel, and fresh with pleasing texture and refreshing acidity. There’s a lovely chalky finish from a little skin contact and it’s super food friendly too: a fillet of pan-fried John Dory with a teaspoonful of capers and squeeze of lemon would be a smashing match.
