Moss Wood Chardonnay 2020

Share

Bright mid straw in colour, this is a typically punchy Moss Wood Chardonnay that is a little raw right now but everything is in place to provide serious drinking pleasure in the coming years. Fruit is powerful with a mix of nectarine and apricot lathered in toasty oak which brings richness and decadence in the form of creme caramel, peanut brittle and praline complexity – it is seductive from the get go. The palate is then dry, full-bodied and tightly wound with oak dominant but with good underlying fruit and chalky acidity providing a long and strong finish. While it definitely needs time to show its best, fans of oaky Chardonnay will not be disappointed should they choose to open a bottle on release.
