Tapanappa Tiers 1.5m Chardonnay 2018

The Tiers 1.5m plot is only 13 years old but already it has shown its potential – in the best years it can challenge the Tiers Chardonnay from the original plot. Always it creates fine, detailed wines full of finesse and 2018 is no different.

It is pale golden in colour with fine, floral, citrus, chalk fruits – it’s immediately vibrant, punchy and embryonic bursting with youthful vitality. The palate shows fantastic fruit concentration – with explosive yet finely detailed and tangy fruit. It has a chalky textural and mineral edge with almond meal barrel ferment and sherbet complexity finishing with great length. The wine is also long and tight, and really needs time.
