The Lane Provenance Cabernet Franc 2021

Share

Cabernet Franc is a wonderfully versatile variety that can make wines ranging from serious, age worthy styles through to smashable, early drinking versions. This example is closer to the latter end of the spectrum but will drink well for a little while yet. Mid to deep crimson in colour, it opens with gently fragrant and engaging aromas of graphite, dark fruit pastilles and dried herbs with a touch of redcurrant. A bright palate follows, generally soft and supple with fresh acidity giving bite while stalky tannins provide a fine backbone. It is a user-friendly example of cabernet franc that will drink equally well on its own or with a plate of cheese and charcuterie.
