The Lane Provenance Pinot Blanc 2022

The Pinot Blanc grape – a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir – is gaining ground in Australian vineyards. It’s not a mainstream variety just yet, but it does offer respite in a changing climate; it holds its acid very well. This ’22 Pinot Blanc from the Adelaide Hills boasts a bright, alert personality. Don’t expect too much flavour, that’s not Pinot Blanc’s bag. Instead, you’ll enjoy a fineness, almost neutral, in delicate citrus, fresh cut apple with some floral citrus blossom notes and a light minerality. Acidity is a bit of a star, contributing a firm, tight grip on things but, note, there are no sharp edges. Some textural notes are developing on the middle palate bringing a little more give.
