Tim Smith Wines Eden Valley Viognier 2024

Okay, so if Viognier hasn’t been on your radar then this wine might be worth a look. It’s from Eden Valley in an excellent year. A combination of, what appears to be, earlier picking followed by wild yeast fermentation, in new and used Hungarian and French oak, has created a palate that has the typical Viognier richness and viscosity but with a finer edge to it. Lovely lift of gingery and citrus to the apricot-dominant stone fruit flavour combination.
