UMAMU Estate Cabernet Merlot 2017

Share

Blackberry, blueberry and bramble. Creeping ivy, mulberry leaf and blood plums. Crushed black peppercorn, clove and allspice. Licorice all-sorts, five spice and charcoal. Merlot shows itself in the purple plummy tones but the structure is all Cabernet with persistent acidity and fine tannins. Another wine from Umamu with generous fruit to counter the cedar oak shell. Drinking well now and has another 2-5 years of cellaring. A wine that would be nicely suited to a peppered steak.
