100% 3-6 year old French oak barrique for 12 months aging. Kicking off with brambly and wild meaty notes, this is a wine that cries out for a chilly winter night under the stars. A bristle of spice and some dark chocolate shavings lead towards a juicy and mouth-watering mid-weight palate with great fruit concentration. Toasted beets, charr-licked oak, Moroccan spice, star anise, and plush dusty red fruits and plum skin leave a stain of loose-grained tannin across the palate. Freshness and lift are provided by beautifully balanced acidity, and a simmering salinity echo. An agreeable Shiraz that would sit comfortably alongside a solid char-grilled steak.
