Thomas Wines The Cote Hunter Valley Shiraz 2018

Share

With fruit for this wine coming from the famous Cote d’Or vineyard in central Pokolbin. At almost 200 metres above sea level, on the steep northerly slope, the Cote d’Or vineyard was one of the first vineyards established by the famous Wilkinson (as in Audrey) family in 1866. The original vines were removed some time ago but 7 acres were replanted in 1971. This is Thommo’s 2nd release from this vineyard.

Calm and restrained aromas: plum, warm blackberry, crushed musk with creamy chocolate sauce, punctuated by a smoky, earthy base. Serious, medium bodied with a delicious silky and smooth palate well supported by crisp, lacy tannin. Impressive structure and length. Bargain.
