Welland Barossa Shiraz 2019

Share

What we’ve got here is an honest to goodness Barossan shiraz done well. There is nothing tricky; just generous, fleshy ripe fruit in spades, with the mix of Barossa and Eden Valley Valley origins also on display. It opens with an array of red and black fruits, cranberry and blackberry the most obvious. There is also some sweet oak but it fits the style beautifully. That is all followed by a rich palate thanks to the vintage. But it also shows some rare restraint, with a nice, fine acidity to freshen it all up which leaves you wanting more before a finish of good length and with supple tannins. Nothing out of place here.
