Wynns Coonawarra Old Vines Shiraz 2021

This wine shows how good Coonawarra Shiraz can be. It captures the cool climate influence on this Aussie staple. The fruit sourcing goes back into the late 19^th century, so this is seriously old vine. Floral bright fruit characters with a slight peppery dried herbs and sage influence. Has a wonderfully crafted palate combining smooth effortless fruit intensity with fine chalky tannin and super fine oak. This is a wine with great cellaring potential but at this price, it would be hard not to drink a bit….er…a lot of it, now.
