Not much went right in 2020, but after a tough vintage Elderton have managed to produce a pretty smart blend of grenache, mataro, carignan and shiraz from their Greenock vineyard. It has an earthy, dusty character emerging on the nose and palate, while other sweet-smelling notes of red raspberry confectionary poke through. It’s medium bodied with spicy red fruit characters dominant and supported by typically chalky, slightly powdery tannins.
