Wynns Coonawarra The Siding Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

The Siding is the cheeky one, the $25 little beauty that opens the door to Coonawarra cabernet for many drinkers. It’s fresh and lively and comes together with ease in the glass.

Fragrant violet, blue fruits, blackberry, a touch of thyme and Provencal herbs. There’s a definite sunny Mediterranean feel here in parts, then Coonawarra steps in with its sapid fine tannins, well-built structure and presence. And the name? It comes from the old Coonawarra station railway siding which is considered a local landmark, a handy one, too, over the years when it has been used as the site for group photos of Coonawarra winemakers.
