This 2022 Shiraz from vines largely over a hundred years old has excellent colour before diving into a welcoming array of blackberry and tar lifted by toasted clove and black pepper. A good mix of approachability and structure – flashy licorice flavours and iron filings are backed by quite a strong seam of tannins which are notable in this year. An excellent vintage for this wine that will age well.
