Xanadu Circa 77 Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Share

Boy, you’re getting a decent bang for your buck with this high-class, relatively inexpensive Cabernet from this great season in Margaret River. It’s a combination of largely Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller contributions from Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cab Franc. In fact, it comes from 10 different vineyards that are all more than 20 years old. Nose shows a plummy blackcurrant character with some high-end perfumes. The palate is generous and concentrated, with loads of dark fruit. And the tannins that are providing the structure are seamless and quite fine, yet inevitably important. There’s an energy here, and yet it has the structure and poise that is what you want to see in Cabernet.
