Yalumba Barossa Bush Vine Grenache 2018

Share

If you are looking for a go-to Grenache, a wine that will give the full Grenache experience but for not a whole lot of dollars, then Yalumba’s Bush Vine Grenache is the place to start. And 2018 has seen a real step up in quality too – it is a very serious Grenache that shows what this grape can deliver with some effort in the winery.

It starts out very pretty – typically juicy red cherry and cranberry fruit plus a touch of Barossa baked earth complexity. But over time in the glass it opens up to show Grenache’s rustic character. Dried lavender, aged meat and spicy fruits finishing with some quite significant drying tannins for Grenache making for a great food style now or a wine that can age a little too. Top value and the perfect start for anyone just starting out on the Grenache train.
