Works the ample but medium-bodied style of Shiraz with some class. Plenty of black olive savoury notes and dark chocolate aromas mixed with blackberry fruit, spice and earth – there’s plenty of fruit action here. Rolls out with a good depth of solid flavour, almost plush, filling the mouth in fruit and a light gamey savouriness and smoky char with briar, bramble, blackberry and sage leading the way. Sourced from the Fleurieu, it offers a well-rounded, flavoursome and smooth Shiraz, modest in alcohol (12.5%) and medium in body, that reflects well on its home in a cool, maritime-influenced wine zone.
