Ah malbec, beautiful fruity opulent malbec. An underrated linchpin for many outstanding Aussie red wines but which often strikes a blow for the underdog. In fact, more winemakers are finally using malbec as a straight varietal, and not before time.
I have always liked this malbec, which is sourced from South Australia’s Langhorne Creek, where the combination of climate, soils and regionality
seem so suited to the highly drinkable nature of the variety. There’s a really engaging perfumed blue fruit character here that reveals on the nose. This plus a juicy palate screams malbec before delivering with a soft and supple pure expression of fruit. Purchase the wine here.
