A more classic expression of Chardonnay from the Revee vineyard in Tumbarumba. Meyer lemon juice, papaya and mango skin. Hints of sherbet and pineapple jelly crystals with a freshness of juicy acidy and caramel popcorn on the end. There is an old school presence here that Australian chardonnay drinkers would enjoy but with less reliance of the heavy hand of oak, well rounded and still youthful for 6 years bottle age. Would love to serve this wine blind and see the look on peoples’ faces when Tumbarumba is revealed.
Serve with crispy fried school prawns and lemon garlic aioli.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career. Shanteh hosts her own weekly podcast ‘Over A Glass’ with the Deep in the Weeds Network and spends her time writing for various publications and judging at numerous wine shows across the country.
