Altera Terra Shiraz 2022

Share

McLaren Vale and Pyrenees Shiraz up close and personal, and they make for a mighty attractive couple. Intense dark purple hues. An amalgam of black cherry, plum, autumnal leaves, aniseed, bay leaf and light savoury aromas. Boasts the unctuous mouthfeel of McLaren Vale spice and earthiness with the peppery, bay leaf liveliness of Pyrenees – a lively, lovely combination. Flows effortlessly on the palate. Brings both precision winemaking and a relaxed sense of self. It is very much comfortable in its own skin. Black fruits are celebrated against a background of delicate spice and herbs: thyme, tarragon, bay leaf and pepper. Medium bodied, excellent tannins all plush and velvety and so, so enjoyable right now. If you can resist the urge, there is good medium-term cellaring to be had.
