Barratt HSV Gamay 2023

Share

Fruit is from the Hill Smith Vineyard located in Woodside. Destemmed whole berries are carefully handled and maturation occurs for six months in French oak. A sultry perfume of boysenberries, blackcurrant, juniper and lilac unfolds. There is sandalwood and boot polish. Granite and charcoal. Fruit is bursting at the seams with flavour, crunch and vibrancy. Oak appears to just soften the chiselled edges but doesn’t deter from the main attraction. It’s all about Gamay. Gamay Gamay Gamay! It’s clear and defined and the wine is a celebration of it flourishing here in Woodside. A triumph. Drink now with a duck Thai red curry and be smitten with your life choices.
