Barratt Uley Vineyard Chardonnay 2022

Share

The Uley vineyards is one of the original vineyard sites in the Piccadilly Valley planted in 1983. Razor focus of grapefruit skin, white peaches and pineapple core. Chalk dust, talc and dried concrete. A whiff of Frangipani blooms by the beachfront, ginger and sparkler flint. It’s tightly coiled with astute acidity and a cashew creaminess. The citrus pucker surrenders to 100% malolactic softening and allows notes of honeycomb, chamomile and nectarine to flow. Nutmeg, cinnamon and rice crispy treats on the finish. A powerful wine but drinking beautifully and will age 3-6 years further. Pair with golden crumpets, poached eggs and hollandaise for a sunday brunch.
