Black & Ginger Hounds Run Vineyard Shiraz 2022

Share

A fair dose of Great Western class to this Shiraz with signature generous black fruits and spice drive, all rolled into a wine that never overstates or in any way looks ostentatious. Hounds Run is the Black & Ginger home vineyard. Fruit is ripe, matched to the kind of spice integral to Great Western Shiraz as well as from some obvious oak – but the wine is up to the oak challenge. Star anise, sage, black cherry and blackberry aromas. Opens up on the palate with an added pinch of peppercorn, woodsy oak, clove and baking spices. Delish. An emerging complexity is building in this youngster, love to see how it ages, should be a treat.
