The best parcels of Margheria cru matured in new, large format vats for 3 years. Complex and compelling notes frame the sheer power beneath; cherry coke, prune, dried orange rind, brandy spice, toffee, dark chocolate, rust, and forest floor. As expected, opulence and tightly knit tannins define the palate rather than fruit flavours held by a long, lingering chinotto finish.
