There were some exceptional cabernets made from 2018 in Coonawarra. Here is a taste of what was made. From the first engagement on the nose, you get classic cabernet characters of blackcurrant and chocolate cut with a finely honed edge of leafy oyster shells. Tight core with a long minerally touch. The palate has a firm thread of sinewy integrated tannins weaving through the plush floral and leafy cabernet. An expressive well-made cabernet that screams Coonawarra.
