Cabernet franc is one of the key varieties of Bordeaux’s Right Bank, with its contribution of heady aromatics a delightful addition to other varieties. But in some cases, it works on its own rather well. This is one of those occasions. It’s so effortlessly long and supple on the palate with a meaty, perfumed mix that is immediately engaging. Fine dusty tannins and a lick of understated oak. Lots of dark chocolate and ripe black fruits. Beautiful palate weight allows the flavours to build with graceful elegance and deliver to a long finish. Mighty good wine for this price.
