Albariño and the Hunter Valley were made for each other. Both are capable of undermining a drinker’s perceptions and expectations. The sunny side of Albariño which we often see, has been transformed with an added touch of savouriness that excites; that hint of beeswax, the suggestion of tangerine peel is alluring. This is a wine of quiet richness, nothing too loud but beautifully expressive of the grape and the region in honeysuckle, nectarine and spiced apple scents. Textural and compact on the palate, it brings more stone fruits into play with citrus, grapefruit pith and a light savouriness. The grape is looking mighty comfortable in its new home.
