Briar Ridge Limited Release Hunter Valley Fiano 2023

Share

The time will be coming very soon when we no longer describe Fiano as a new, alternative grape variety. Acceptance of the Southern Italian grape variety in this country is such that it is fast becoming mainstream. Here, we see it presented savoury, earthy and wild. It’s not the usual Aussie style, definitely a little more Italian in feel, but it certainly works and shows the grape’s admirable versatility. Brings bush scents of acacia and spring blossom to the bouquet with apple, Nashi pear, almond and straw. Firm acidity guides the palate as it explores savoury territory rich in apple and pear intensity, earth and herbals of thyme, fennel and ginger, finishing with an almond skin dryness.
