Briar Ridge Viognier Wrattonbully 2025

Another unique take on the floral variety. Here the musk, apricot and orange blossom has been hooked by a leash of golden citrus, star fruit and citron. This allows the fragrance to envelope you without overpowering your senses. There is a nectarous nature to the touch of sweetness, some yellow plum flesh in the mid palate whilst keeping the direction of the wine long and lengthy. This is thoughtful viticulture and winemaking, with drinkability and enjoyment of the variety held in high regard. Shape and texture are a real star here. A wonderful wine for those dishes we don’t revisit enough, in season artichoke leaves dipped into aioli. Fish or pork in Espagnole sauce. Drink now or cellar for 2- 3 years further.
