This Rosé style from Brokenwood has become a bit of a hit since its release about 10 years ago. It’s a combination of the Italian varieties Nebbiolo from the north and Sangiovese from further south. It’s light-bodied, pale in colour, and slightly savoury in character, yet the light red fruits on the palate and floral aromas are absolutely engaging. It even gets a little bit of foot stomping during the making, and a small portion is fermented in old oak. The result is a wine that comes together beautifully. Absolutely scrumptious and ready for current drinking. Lovely stuff.
