Brand & Sons Honeysuckle Riesling 2024

Share

According to the back label, “Coonawarra” derives from the local Indigenous word for honeysuckle, which once grew wild across the region. Fittingly, the wine is laced with honeysuckle on the nose—not merely a power of suggestion—alongside elderflower, citrus blossom, Meyer lemon, melon, kumquat, lime leaf, and a hint of talc. The palate carries a generous lick of residual sugar, adding glow and gentle viscosity, before being neatly framed by chalky phenolic grip. Acidity plays a supporting role—less pronounced, but effective in offsetting the sweetness. A charming, off-dry Riesling that offers plenty of character at an accessible price.
