Brokenwood Wines Semillon 2020

Share

Who can forget the Summer of 2020 – bushfire smoke and blood red skies that also wiped out much of the vintage around New South Wales, which makes this Hunter Valley Semillon an absolute triumph. It is a very impressive vintage of this Hunter Valley classic with the length and balance of acid and fruit just superb. There is pine lime and dried grass aromas that then lead to a ligth-bodied, crisp and silky palate with only 11% alcohol helping to give lovely delicacy of flavour – no wonder in wine Best Current Vintage Semillon at the 2020 Hunter Valley Wine Show. It is unsurprisingly youthful and vibrant with that impeccable balance promising a long future ahead. But if you can’t keep your hands off, it will be a superb match right now with salt and pepper whitebait.
