Brokenwood Wines Kat’s Block Shiraz 2019

Share

Made from 17 year old vines from the Graveyard vineyard this is the bargain of the 2021 releases when compared to the $350 Graveyard. It is quite a punchy and raw version of Hunter Shiraz – juicy red and black fruits plus some toasty oak are then followed by a tangy and fleshy palate with plenty of concentration and length supported by mouthcoating tannins. It is a little raw right now but has highly complex fruits just waiting in the wings so best to leave it for at least five years before enjoying with pink lamb backstraps.
